Mirar este anuncio de la revista The Nation donde se busca un gerente de ventas de publicidad online (imagino que Internet y celular), es interesante por que te da pistas sobre el perfil que piden: aqui lo reproduzco tal cual

"The Nation, America’s leading progressive print and online journal, seeks an Online Advertising Sales Manager (www.thenation.com). Position will have responsibility for growing web advertising revenues and end to end responsibility for all phases of the advertising sales process, including direct-to-client and top agency contacts. Manager should provide proactive, innovative and market-driven direction to the organization in shaping its online sales initiatives and consistently produce revenue to meet and exceed aggressive targets and goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for helping reach and exceed online advertising revenue targets for thenation.com• Develop online sales strategy and implement with the executive and advertising teams.• Provide efficient, timely, high quality responses to RFPs.• Help create customized products for the US market in response to advertiser demand.• Assist in establishing budgets and forecasts, setting revenue targets and managing expenses.• Attend regular meetings with agencies & marketers to provide expert knowledge of the online product offerings and deliver innovative solutions.• Develop, implement and monitor sales pipeline and report regularly to supervisor.• Work closely with print sales department on integrated (multiple platform) sales.• Stay current and active in the online market by regularly attending industry events, conferences & networking opportunities.• Develop tailored and generic sales proposals, presentations, reports to management and clients, sales collateral materials and messaging to the advertising market.• Work with clients and production team to deliver campaigns that optimize results. Emphasis on revenue maximization and client retention through effective inventory and campaign management.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 4 years of advertising sales experience. • Must have demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships through strong interpersonal skills.• Proven success in selling within the online advertising space with established knowledge of and relationships with digital advertising decision makers.• Superior verbal and written communication skills. Must be successful at communicating effectively with all levels of management and with colleagues and clients.• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills a must.• Self-starter with a drive to succeed.• Confident personality, good at networking, with a collaborative approach.Position works out of The Nation’s New York City offices. Quien consiga este empleo seguro que no es mileurista!

Esto es un ejemplo claro de que tenemos que formarnos para ser los mejores en el ámbito en el que estemos trabajando, y para ello hay que recurrir a buenos centros de estudios. Y hay que ponerse en acción ya en el terreno laboral.

No hace falta terminar la carrera para empezar a movernos, podemos caminar ya hacia el futuro que queremos compaginando horarios y actividades. Hay que conseguirlo.
